Interventional TEE
Im interested to know who is performing TEE guided transcatheter interventions (LAAC, Mitral, Tricuspid, ASD/PFO) in your institutions (anesthesia vs cardiology). If done by cardiologist – who is placing the TEE probe (anesthesia vs cardiology).
Thank you!
We have a small group of dedicated echo-boarded cardiologists who guide all the structural cases.

Both specialties are well capable of doing probe insertions, but mostly anesthesiologist did the insertion. We work as a team.
Cardiology performs TEEs as well as places probes for transcatheter procedures
Anesthesia usually performs the TEE at my institution.
